The post must have been different this week, however.. Let me tell you.. Once I watched and heard about what I’m about to share, I knew immediately that I must share it this week.
You may ask why? Well, because it’s 2020.. the beginning of the year and the beginning of a new decade. So, most probably we have our goals for this year and even for a new decade! What’s more important, ‘New Year New Me!’ idea is very strong in the beginning of the year, however.. However.. How is that idea realised by the end of the year? You may answer yourself. I know for sure that my motivation towards the goals at the end of the year is not that high, and towards some goals it’s difficult to keep the motivation even for a few months. I tried to find answers to this behaviour and realised that I become distracted way too much sometimes and it does affect further actions during the day or/and the week.
Then, I found out about the writer Nir Eyal who is an American author, lecturer and investor. In 2019, he published a book ‘Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life‘. I haven’t read a book, but.. I found a podcast by Steven Bartlett who interviewed Nir Eyal on his new book and generally asked questions on behaviour. In this podcast the behaviours of getting distracted and procrastinating are so well explained that you will want to change the way you spend your days starting today. I strongly recommend listening to it, e.g. as I did, on my way to work (a.k.a. walking – new year!).

I must say that ‘The Diary of CEO’ podcast by Steven Bartlett is an inspirational podcast worth listening to in itself. So, in case you haven’t listened to it yet, I strongly recommend that, too! Let’s build a strong 2020!
